Veteran writer and entertainer, John Barclay has flourished in Wareham for 25 years. He’s been a fan of the Rex since he first appeared with the Rex Players, who every year presented a variety show at the Cinema to raise money for local causes. After these performances came to an end five years ago, John returned to the Rex with some smaller, one-off shows, notably “The Old Man and the Opera Singer”.
Now in his eighties, John is looking forward to this special event – possibly his final fling. Expect his angle on the delights of ageing, hitherto untold stories of his childhood in post-war Surrey, a selection of his lively, well-crafted poems and much comedy.
